Care
Tradescantia are a great starter plant! They are hardy and can survive both over and under watering. They thrive in bright, indirect light, which helps maintain strong coloration and compact growth, though I have also had success growing them outdoors in direct sunlight. Allow the top layer of soil to dry slightly between waterings, as overly wet soil can lead to rot. Higher humidity is appreciated but not required, making it an easy and adaptable houseplant for shelves, hanging baskets, and terrariums. To propagate, simply cut the stem in half and place it in the ground!
Greenhouse Disclaimer
This plant was grown outside in a greenhouse alongside natural ecosystems. While every effort is made to inspect, rinse, and clean plants before shipping, it is impossible to guarantee that plants are completely free of hitchhikers. I use neem oil pesticides and recommend every plant be quarantined before adding to your collection.
